About Dreher Custom Cycles

Dreher Custom Cycles, KauKauna, WI

Dreher Custom Cycles Officially opened summer of 2013, but Derek Dreher (owner and founder) has been around motorcycles a lot longer than that. Ever since he was a little boy he was on something with a motor. His dad had him flat track racing at the age of 5 and he was instantly hooked.

Derek worked at his parents’ shop “Dreher Collision Center” by his dad’s side since he was a little kid learning sheet metal fabricating and painting. As the years progressed so did Derek’s skills. After High School Derek tried the whole college thing and realized it just wasn’t for him. He wanted to use his hands and create works of art.

In 2005 at the age of 19, Derek called Big Bear Choppers and ordered a Devil’s Advocate motorcycle kit. Derek was on his own when it came to putting this bike together. No one he knew had any idea! Derek learned on his own and after a long 8 months the bike was finally completed. After building this bike Derek realized that this was going to be his passion.

In 2012 Derek Built a custom chopper that was featured in the 2013 Dupont Paints Calendar.

Dreher Collision Center Started a second location in Appleton, WI in Feb. 2007 and Derek was asked to run the day-to-day operations.

As Dreher Collision Center grew so did the stress. Derek would build bikes out of his parents shop to ease his mind. After building numerous bikes and having more and more special requests Derek ran out of room.

In summer of 2013 Derek decided to go out and find a shop and start Dreher Custom Cycles.
